Fattoria Lavacchio is a family owned typical Tuscan farm of 110 hectares located on the top of the Montefiesole hill at 450 above sea level just 12 miles from Florence. The farm, built in 1700 by the noble Florentine Peruzzi family was purchased in 1840 by the Marchesi Strozzi Sacrati and then again in 1978 by the present owners.

The farm produces olive oil, wine and wheat. They have a large productive garden with fruit and vegetables which provides the restaurant with its fresh produce. Podere Casabella is set in the middle of the olive groves and vineyard with incredible views over the surrounding hills.

It has a lovely terrace for breakfast, comfortable sitting areas, beautiful swimming pool and all the rooms are on suite and of a high standard.

The area is well known by walkers as there are quiet beautiful walks to be had in the area.  The property has its own stable and offers riding lessons or wonderful hacks through the vineyards.

The owner Faye is always pleased to show our guests around the cantina where the wine is produced.  There is also a small ceramic factory on the property.  Ceramic painting lessons can be arranged.
