Painting Programme B 2008

Our Painting Programme B is also based at Villa San Donnino in Umbria

Programme B: Citta Di Castello

Includes 7 nights' full-board accommodation in 3 star hotel, airport transfers, visits to exclusive restaurants (wine, soft drinks and coffee included), tuition and excursions. Programme B is also based in Villa San Donnino in Umbria. This programme is intended for returning guests, and those with more artistic experience. It features a different selection of excursions from Programme A.

We have developed Programme B specifically for those guests who want to return to Hotel Villa San Donino but don’t want to repeat the programmes in Programme A.

Sunday

11.00: Collect from Perugia airport (unless Ryanair’s schedule changes) for 45 minute journey to Hotel Villa San Donino.
13.00: Lunch will be served in the hotel.
The afternoon to be spent settling in and relaxing.
18.00: Drinks and introduction to the week given by tutor.
20.00: Dinner will be served on the terrace of the hotel.

Monday

07.00-09.00: Continental breakfast is served
9.30: Drawing and Painting commences.
13.00: Lunch served on the terrace of the hotel
15.30: Depart for excursion to Lake Tresimeno including boat trip to the island Isola Magiore. The island is very nice for walking and painting. The island is well known for lace making.
19.30: Return to the mainland for dinner in a restaurant situated near to the lake.
22.00: Return to hotel.

Tuesday

07.00-09.00: Continental breakfast is served
10.00 Depart for excursion to Urbino. This is a coach journey through the mountains with lovely scenery which takes approx. 1.5 hours. We will stop half way for a break and coffee.
We will visit the Palazzo Ducale. This is Italy’s most beautiful Renaissance palace and was built for Duke Federico da Montefeltro, the ruler of Urbino, between 1444 and 1482. We will see Piero della Francesca’s Flagellation” and Piero’s (or possibly Laurana’s) “Ideal City”. There are also works by Paolo Ucello, Luca Signorelli, Antonio Alberi de Ferrara, Vicenzo Pagani and Raphael.
13.00: Lunch in Urbino followed by more drawing, painting and sightseeing.
16.00: Return to hotel for dinner.

Wednesday

Thursday

07.00-09.00: Continental breakfast is served
10.00: Depart for excursion to Montefalcro and Spoleto. Montefalcro is called “the balcony of Umbria”. There will be time for drawing and painting.
13.00: Lunch in Montefalcro.
14.30: Depart to Spoleto. Spoleto became one of central Italy’s most important Roman colonies and is considered one of Umbria’s most loveliest hilltowns.
16.00: Return to hotel for dinner.

07.00 – 09.00: Continental breakfast is served
10.00: Depart for Citta di Castello to visit the weekly market.
12.30: Return to Hotel Villa San Donino for lunch.
Afternoon for relaxing and painting.
19.00: Review of the week.
20.00: Dinner in hotel.

Sunday

07.00-09.00: Continental breakfast is served
09.00: Coach departs for Perugia airport.
