Programme B: Citta Di Castello
Programme B is intended for returning guests as it features a
different selection of excursions from Programme
A. The cooking
tuition takes place each morning in Claudio’s home which is
a five minute drive from the hotel.
Excursions
1) Cortona. This is a very beautiful hill town made famous by Francis
Mayes author of Under The Tuscan Sun. The town is well known for
its museum containing Etruscan artefacts, several other museums,
art galleries, beautiful churches, lots of coffee bars, restaurants
and good shopping.
2) Lake Tresimeno including a boat trip to the island Isola Magiore.
This is a tiny fishing village with houses dating back to the 14th and the
16th centuries. As well as the Romantic folly
known as the Guglielmi castle (Villa Isabella), built in 1885, the
island is very nice for walking and painting. In September the return boat journey to Passignano, in time for a fish dinner, is particularly beautiful because of the setting sun.
4) Wine Tasting.
