Saturday
Depending on time of arrival in the hotel
18.00: Drinks and introduction to the week given by Professor Alan
Robb
20.00: Dinner will be served in the hotel.
Sunday
07.00-09.00: Continental breakfast is served
9.15-10.00 – coffee and slide show introduction to the painting
and drawing programme.
10.30: Drawing and painting begins.
13.00: Lunch served in the restaurant
Afternoon to be spent painting or relaxing around the estate.
19.00-20.00: Slide show given by Professor Alan Robb on the Italian
Renaissance and introduction to the afternoon excursions with particular
reference to the Florentine School followed by dinner in restaurant.
Monday
07.00-09.00: Continental breakfast is served
9.30: Drawing and Painting on location.
13.00: Lunch served on the terrace of the hotel
15.30: Depart for excursion to Fiesole to visit The Villa Medici.
The Villa Medici at Fiesole is one of the oldest Renaissance residences
with a garden and is also one of the best preserved. The villa was
completed in 1461 by Michaelozzi for Cossimo di Medici. We will
also visit the church of San Domenico which has 2 works by Frangelico
before returning to our hotel.
19.30: Dinner in Fiesole.
Tuesday
07.00-09.00: Continental breakfast is served.
9.15: Drawing and Painting on location.
14.30: Depart for excursion to Florence. We will visit the Uffizi,
The Pontevecchio and Santa Trinita Gallery to see the frescos of
Girlandiaio (the Master of Michaelangelo).
19.30: Dinner in a very nice restaurant in the centre of Florence.
22.00: Return to Hotel.
Wednesday
07.00-09.00: Continental breakfast is served
9.30: Drawing and Painting commences.
13.00: Lunch served on the terrace of the hotel
18.00: Wine Tasting
19.30: Dinner in hotel.
Thursday
07.00-09.00: Continental breakfast is served
9.30: Depart for excursion to Sienna. The visit will include The
Duomo and the Palazzo Pubblico. Brave souls can climb the 505 steps
to the top of the Torre del Mangia the second highest tower in Italy
with mavelous views of The Campo, The Duomo and the Tuscan landscape.
13.00: Lunch in Sienna.
16.00: Return to the hotel.
19.30: Dinner in the hotel.
Friday
07.00-09.00: Continental breakfast is served
13.00: Lunch served in the hotel.
14.30: Excursion to Florence - Santa Maria del Carmine to visit
the Brancacci Chapel to see Masaccio Filipo Lippi the frescos which
were such an influence on the Florentine School – Leonardo
da Vinci and Michaelangelo.
18.00: Return to the hotel.
19.00: Farewell drink and review of the week.
20.00: Dinner in the restaurant.
