Programme E:/o:p> Destination: Citta di Castello, Umbria Hotel: Hotel Tiferno – 4 stars situated in the centre of town. Programme: Painting Tuition in combination with guided leisure walking for partners/friends. Dates: 23rd May (7 days), 29th August (7 days) Price: £1150.00 + £150 single person supplement. Includes 7 nights’ half board accommodation. Wine, soft drinks and coffee are included with evening meals in restaurants in Citta di Castello. Excursion and wine tasting. Airport transfer from Perugia airport. o:p> We have listened to our guests and have developed a programme in which there is only one excursion to Arezzo. Arezzo will appeal to art history lovers because they will be able to see “The Legend of the True Cross” by Piero Francesca. It will also appeal to shoppers because of the high quality shops there are in this Tuscan town. We have made this programme half board so that our guests have the freedom to have just a panini (sandwich) for lunch or a full three-course lunch if they prefer. This gives guests more time to paint, draw or explore the town. We will get together in the evenings for dinners in some of the numerous excellent restaurants in Citta di Castello. For non-participating partners/friends we have included guided walking in the beautiful countryside around the town. The walks will take place on three mornings during the week and last for 2 hours. The walks will take place in the very beautiful countryside surrounding Citta di Castello. It will include some hill walking but the point of the walks is for pleasure and aimed at “leisure walkers”. The following can also be arranged: There is a thermal spa for thermal treatments, massage and beauty treatments. There is a golf course and riding centre a short distance from the town. Italian classes can also be arranged. Citta di Castello is a wonderful town with lots of things to see and do. Every year Citta di Castello hosts “The Festival of Nations” classical music concerts at the end of August. Each year a country is invited to play a weeklong programme of their country’s music. The experience of listening to orchestral music is enhanced because of the wonderful venues in which the concerts are held such as the gothic San Domenico Church that was built in 1424. The large structure of the church, with a single central nave, makes it an ideal place for hosting the many festival guests. Guests can arrive in the hotel by their own means, however any costs incurred are not included in the price. 12.00: Guests will be greeted in the hotel on their arrival. 15.00: Explore the town with the tutor. 18.30: Welcome drink and introduction to the week given by tutor. 20.00: Dinner in Citta di Castello.
