Painting Programme E 2008Our Painting Programme E is based in Cortona, TuscanyProgramme E: Cortona, Tuscany“We would like more time to paint”. We have listened to our guests and have developed a programme in which there are no excursions. This gives guests more time to paint and draw based in a town in which everywhere is reachable on foot from the hotel. We have also made it half board so that our guests have the freedom to have just a panini (sandwich) for lunch or a full three course lunch if they prefer. We will get together in the evenings for dinners in some the great restaurants in Cortona. Non-painting partners/friends can enjoy a massage in the hotel or they can visit the nearby factory outlet shopping centre or thermal spa for treatments. We have reserved the superior double rooms in a beautiful boutique hotel, Hotel Italia, as we felt the increased luxury was worth it. Hotel Italia is a 15th-century mansion recently renovated with modern conveniences. It is located in the centre of Etruscan Cortona. Breakfast is served on the enclosed roof terrace which has breathtaking views over the Valdichiana plain and Lake Trasimeno. Cortona is a wonderful hill top town with lots of medieval streets and typically Italian squares. The town was made famous by Francis Mayes who wrote “Under the Tuscan Sun” and it is where the film, based on the book, was made. Everything in Cortona is within easy walking distance with an abundance of subjects to paint and draw. When guests are not working there are many things to see and do in Cortona. The town is famous for its museum containing Etruscan artefacts, several other museums, art galleries, beautiful churches, lots of coffee bars, restaurants and of course good shopping. The programme is for 5 days. The price of £799.00 (+ £125 single person supplement) includes transfers from Perugia airport, hotel, breakfast, tuition, dinners in local restaurants including wine, soft drinks and coffee. 10% discount for non-painting partners/friends.
